The CMAO Board met to discuss the Summer Conference in August. With the increase in COVID-19 numbers in the state, along with several municipalities moving toward mask requirements and limited gatherings, the Board concluded to move to a fully virtual conference in August.

We know that networking and in-person connection with your colleagues is a big part of the conference experience. However, CMAO is excited about the opportunity to create a virtual option for our members, our sponsors and our speakers so that we can continue to interact and share great content, and our staff is working hard to transition to this format.

We want to extend a big thank you to the City of Enid, the Stride Bank Center and the Visit Enid staff – they have been so gracious and flexible in our plans this year. We will plan to travel to Enid in July 2021 for our summer conference!

Virtual Format

The virtual conference will be held via Zoom - login information and packet materials will be sent to registrants one week prior to the conference, with a reminder the day before. Same great content, same great speakers - you won’t want to miss it!

We will begin with a welcome session on August 19th, including:

  • Welcome from CMAO President Jim Thomas

  • Review of Conference Schedule & Format

  • CMAO Business Meeting & Elections

  • Sponsor Showcase

  • ICMA Update

  • Presentation of the Gerald Wilkins Award

  • A “Virtual Happy Hour” for Open Discussion.

Following that, the sessions will be spread out over several days. Tune in live when available, or enjoy the recorded sessions after the conference - this virtual option will allow us to archive the event! Also, the virtual sessions will still count toward your AMP credit - look for AMP forms in your delegate packet the week prior to the conference. We will follow up with a complete schedule of events once we confirm with the speakers.
