2024 Gerald Wilkins Award

Each year the City Management Association of Oklahoma (CMAO) recognizes a city manager in our state for outstanding performance with the Gerald Wilkins Award.  This award honors the late Gerald Wilkins, former OML President, longtime city manager and municipal advisor to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Recipients of the award are credited with strengthening the city management form of government through their stable length of service to cities; dedication to civic activities; and participation in, and contribution to, CMAO; and commitment to the ICMA Code of Ethics.  The award will be presented at the CMAO Awards Banquet at the Annual Summer Conference on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Please note: Each year CMAO alternates between cities in two population categories:  managers of cities of under 15,000 and managers of cities 15,000 and over.  For 2024 we are accepting nominations for managers of cities over 15,000. All nominations are reviewed to determine if they meet the criteria for this prestigious award. If none of the nominations are determined to meet the criteria, the committee will select the best nomination.

The deadline for nominations is June 15, 2024. Please email nominations to info@cmao-ok.org or mail to CMAO, 7633 E 63rd Pl, Suite 507, Tulsa, OK 74133.
